When acts of terrorism in Boston or Paris take precedence over similar attacks in Ankara or Karachi, we often feel a sense of moral outrage at the news media for reminding us of a truism so blatant it hardly needs to be repeated: white lives matter more. But, our outrage, however warranted, mistakes the symptom for the disease.
